Our Activities
Each year, Pack 1 & 33 cub scouts participate in many Pack events, such as the following:
Pinewood Derby (homemade toy car race) in the spring
Fall council campout and Spring family campout
Winter Camp at Camp Marin Sierra
Hikes: in Mill Valley and surrounding areas like Point Reyes
Popcorn Sale (main fundraiser for Pack activities)
Scouting for Food (food donation drive for the Marin Food Bank)
Service projects such as Coastal Cleanup Day, Earth Day
Mill Valley Memorial Day parade
Veterans Day Flag Ceremony at Presidio Cemetery
Special overnight trips e.g. to the USS Hornet and California Academy.
Field trips and outdoor exploration
Safety training and demonstrations

Highlight: Pinewood Derby

The pinewood derby is a racing event for Cub Scouts in the Boy Scouts of America. Cub Scouts, with the help of parents, build their own cars from wood, usually from kits containing a block of pine, plastic wheels and metal axles.
